Deck BenchA deck bench can come in a variety of types, sizes, and styles. Often the type of deck bench reflects its intended usage. For example some owners prefer a bench that is built into the railings of the deck. This type of bench is fantastic for home owners who do a lot of outdoor entertaining. It is however, not without its drawbacks. The fixed built-in bench does not offer a lot of versatility in terms of rearrangement of the outdoor furniture. This may be an undesirable aspect forcing the owner to choose a different type of bench. Wooden benches are common and can bring a warm, comfortable atmosphere to an outdoor living space. They can be simplistic with plain clean lines or rather complicated with intricate arm and back rests. An advantage of the wooden type of bench is that is can be stained, painted or even purchased in a wide assortment of finishes. Additionally it can be homemade with relative ease and built to suite the owners taste. The alternative to the wooden bench is a metal bench which is usually store-bought and made from cast iron or aluminium. An advantage of the metal bench is that it lasts a long time but, some find it cold and uninviting. Much like the wooden bench it can be extremely complicated, involving intense metal work, or quite simple in design. Another type of bench, which is quite possibly the most stunning, is the wooden and metal combination bench. The metal and wood work in a complementary fashion to provide a very pleasant and appealing look, adding charm to the owner’s deck. Deck benches can also have cushions added to them making the deck a more welcoming place. An additional feature of the movable bench is that it can be obviously, relocated to other parts of the yard, basically extending the outdoor living space.
